Highly qualified musician
By Zoe Condon • Aug 22nd, 2008 • Category: NewsA former Colac musician has reached a pinnacle in his career, successfully completing one of the highest education qualifications.
Shannon Ebeling, the son of Mike and Catriona Ebeling of Warrion, has completed his licentiate diploma, the grade below a fellowship.
Ebeling received a distinction in the coveted Licentiate Diploma from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
“I performed on alto saxophone with fellow musician Amir Farid on piano,” Ebeling said.
“We performed a range of works including J. S. Bach, Muczynski, Australian composer Larry Sitsky and the jazz-influenced Yoshimatsu,” he said.
Ebeling said he thought he would use his licentiate as a stepping stone for his masters’ degree.
“The licentiate made me work harder to play at a higher
level,” he said.
