ope to tap into Colac and district’s talented crop of emerging players.
The new entity, which replaces the old Geelong Flyers, will have open selection trials next month for its representative teams to compete in the Victorian Netball League next year.
Geelong is one of 10 franchises in the new league and will host two trials on October 7 and 14 for its championship and Division One squads and trials on October 21 and 28 for the 19-and-Under team.
All sessions will be at the new multi-million-dollar Handbury Centre for Wellbeing at Geelong Grammar in Corio, starting at 7pm, and are likely to
draw the cream of the Geelong and
district talent pool.
Geelong Netball Club coaching director Susan Meaney said the standard set during this year’s Colac and district netball season was an indication that the district was still producing quality players.
