Rain, hail and shine after six dry months

Wind, rain and hail have caused chaos in Colac after the city’s second driest first half of the year on record.
Police and emergency crews responded to fallen powerlines and trees, car accidents and flooded streets as wild weather bombarded the city this week.
Colac received 36 millimetres of rain in the 48 hours to 9am yesterday, almost half its average July rainfall.
Three tourists were lucky to escape serious injuries when the car they were travelling in aqua-planed and rolled in wet weather on the Princes Highway at Colac East.
