FRUSTRATION: Ross Jackson sums up Colac’s day on the greens in one reaction.

Cobden’s sublime start to the Colac district bowls season continued at Colac.
The surprise competition leader defied the slower grass greens at Colac’s lakeside green to win 94-84 against Corangamite Bowling Association’s most attacking side.
The 10-shot triumph preserved Cobden’s undefeated record and moved it 16 points clear of City One at the top of the ladder.
Cobden’s Bazil Hammond claimed the day’s biggest win, a 34-17 triumph over Colac’s Ross Jackson, Ken Howard beat Tim Hassett, 23-19 and Peter Inglis overcame John Lees, 21-18.
Glenn Baudinette was Colac’s only victor, defeating Cliff Cobbledick, 30-16.
Hammond said Cobden “had the run of the green” throughout the day while its opponents endured frustration.
“What we did was right and when they shifted the kitty it went to us,” Hammond said.
Hammond’s opponent Jackson said two six-shot end losses were crucial to the final result.
“One early in the day and one just after half time and that made it very hard for us for the rest of the day,” Jackson said.
