A Colac woman affected by alcohol when she did burnouts outside the Colac Police Station watched police impounded her car this week.
The woman, 37, presented her Holden Commodore sedan at the police station on Monday and left the station on foot after a tow truck drove away with the car.
Police caught the woman burning rubber in front of the station on February 20.
A police spokeswoman said officers were interviewing a man at the station when they heard the woman doing burnouts.
The spokeswoman said the woman’s friends convinced her to hand herself in.
“She was persuaded to come to the police station,” she said.
“It took us a little while to persuade her to come inside.
“She had a breath test in here which was positive.”
The spokeswoman said police summonsed the woman to court for “a number of traffic matters”.
The woman lost her car
for 48 hours and will collect it today from Colac Body Works.
The impoundment is another blow in the war against Colac hoons.
The spokeswoman said she hoped the impoundment sent a message to would-be hoons that police would catch them.
