Mother’s Day will take on new meaning for Forrest’s Siobhan Casey.
The new mother will get to share Sunday’s special day with her family and 17-day-old daughter Isla.
Mrs Casey said she and her husband Daniel opted to spend Mother’s Day with their extended family rather than lash out on expensive gifts.
“I personally think it’s important to appreciate what your mum does on a day-to-day basis,” Mrs Casey said.
“It’s also nice to make time to spend with all your family which is what we spend time thinking about rather than buying big presents,” she said.
“And it’s exciting that Isla is here to share it with us too.”

Stock producers often look at putting their stock back out onto pastures as soon as there is a green tinge, but Department of Primary Industries district veterinarian Dr Paul Beltz advises against this.
“We are often called out to producers who have lost stock or have stock going backwards in condition when they are put onto lush, new green pick,” Dr Beltz said.
Early on, pasture can be up to 90 per cent water in its first flush of growth and at this stage it’s impossible to get enough “dry matter” into the guts of sheep or cattle to provide adequate nutrition.
“Nutrition is based on the dry matter, digestible content of the feed supplied. If it’s almost all water, the stock cannot get enough value out of it,” Dr Beltz said.
