A man who died yesterday from gas inhalation in a hotel cellar had cared for his partner for the past 13 months after a car accident. Birregurra’s Xavier “Snow” Carey, 54, died after a suspected carbon dioxide leak in the cellar of  his workplace, Birregurra’s Royal Mail Hotel, yesterday. [...]

A 54-year-old Birregurra man has died after collapsing in the cellar of a hotel in Main Street, Birregurra, this morning.
A 45-year-old Corio man who was delivering supplies to the hotel discovered the man just after 7.30am.
Firefighters were at the scene to attend to a gas leak.
